Wee Genius PlaySchool is where children thrive in a loving, safe learning environment filled with activities that engage young minds.  Using developmentally appropriate strategies, children at Wee Genius PlaySchool have fun while acquiring the skills necessary for kindergarten readiness in English Language Arts, Math, Science and Art.

     Wee Genius is owned and operated by Alex Catherine Stroup, a licensed teacher in Oregon, (license no. 10477160, exp. 09/03/22) and California, (license no. 170134573, exp. 06/01/22. 

 

Alex holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from George Fox University, renowned for developing outstanding educators, and 24 Early Childhood Education credits from College of the Desert. She is also trained in Montessori philosophies.

 

Alex has specialized in her teaching career as an Early Childhood Education teacher, working in Transitional Kindergarten in California for six years. 

 

Many of Alex's four year old students were reading by the end of the school year due to the methods and strategies that Alex employed in the classroom.

     Research shows the importance of Early Childhood Education.  Young students that are exposed to high quality, early education have a higher rate of high school and college graduation rates, and are more likely to develop successful careers.  They even enjoy better health throughout their lives!
